It Would Be Wrong 2

So, I came upon something cool and new that I did not know existed, and it is kind of messing with my head.  APPARENTLY, you can use this fancy technique to knit jogless stripes.  I do not know how this works, it is really baffeling me.  Here, check it out on the TECHknitting Blog.

CRAZY!  I know!  You can still kind-of see where the colors change, but not really, which is way better that I have done for past in-the-round-stripe-knitting.  Gah!  Where was this last summer when I was knitting a totally awesome stripey baby sweater!

PLUS, it is super easy!  Who’d a thunk.  Oh, and the best part, this very intelligent knitter is from Wisconsin, yay!

If you, like me, have fallen into the trap of shawl knitting you know there is no way out.  To help you along in your triangular shawl knitting there is this very fun excel formula that Rose-Kim Knits created.  Ever wonder how ‘done’ you are, but the thought of that growing triangle leaves you scratching your head not knowing if you are 50% done or only 25%?  Not sure if you will have enough yarn to do another repeat?  You can find it on her blog and scroll down a little ways on the right hand side and it is there, called “SHAWL PROGRESS CALCULATOR”.  I love this thing!  I probably could have created something with the help of Joel, but here it is, all done for me already!  For each shawl I have been working on I save it to my desktop with the correct amount of rows and then I can properly gauge my completeness!  Yeah, I am a dork, but it is great!

I promise some more original blogging soon.  We have just about finished with unpacking the house, today was cleaning and we have more pictures to hang.  Yay!
