Well, a few highlights from the first 30 hours at the house:
Our fancy new furnace
All the paint I bought, but it appears the paint calculator online might have been an overestimate and I might have gotten too much of some…oops.
John and Joel ripped out carpet from what will be our bedroom. What we found underneath was acceptable but not as great as the rest of the house. But in the end oh so much better than the carpet.
The ceiling in our bedroom also had to be painted. I am a bit sore from that, and Laura helped trim it all in!
Not only were there bazillions of holes to fill and old paint runs to scrape off, the walls were filthy and had to be cleaned thoroughly.
Here is what was accomplished this weekend:
Kitchen: cleaned cupboards and stove/oven, cork wall taken down, walls preped and primed
Dining room: walls preped, primed and 1 coat of color
Bathroom: thoroughly cleaned and new toilet seat installed
Master Bedroom: poorly installed wire closet organizer removed, carpet removed, ceiling cleaned and painted twice, walls preped and primed
Guest Bedroom: removed evil window treatment hardware, preped
