Holy Cow it is Fall! Where did the summer go? The garden is on the downside, we are getting more rain, and apples are here!
I think going to China for two weeks in the middle of the summer makes it go pretty quickly!
So after I got back from China we ended up having a bunch of house guests!
My girlfriend Caroline and her friend Susi were visiting from Germany. My parents came to visit and Joel’s parents came to visit. Wow! It was so much fun, we explored Portland, went to the coast, went to wine country, etc.
We even packed 6 adults into my new awesome car!
So after the house settled back down to just two humans and two cats I began a massive food preservation program. We have been cooking and freezing and canning like crazy.
A few of those things are:
Dilly Beans
Peach Mead
Diced Tomatoes
Pickles
Raspberry and Mixed berry jam
Canned Peaches, Peach jam and fig/plum jam
And soon to join the shelves will be many jars of apple sauce and apple butter from these 60 lbs of apples Joel and I picked last weekend!
Joel and I are also busy finishing up house stuff in time for winter, including putting up shutters that we bought and sat in the garage for a while!
There has been tons of knitting and sewing going on lately, but there is quite a bit of secret stuff going on so I can’t really talk about it. I need to go around the house and take some photos of everything I have been working on. There has also been yarn accumulation. I should take photos of that too. Yeah.
