It has been an interesting week. Work has been a bit stressful lately, I have been having some neck pain lately, and it is making me a bit restless. But in the midst there is so much happening!
Monday night Joel and I met up with Lisa and Chris for Pastys and Wisconsin trivia night. Lisa is also from Wisconsin, we met back in the day at Pine Lake Camp. Sadly we did not win, but happily we ate the Pastys. They were pretty delicious. We will kick but next time!
This week I also made a iphone cozy for a coworker. Only tool about 2 hours I think? Leftover yarn, gotta love it!
So I have some stupid sunflowers. The first one to grow a flower randomly lost its flower about a day later and it is hanging about a foot down (in the middle of the photo). Then there is another that refused to grow UP, and I have had to tie it up (it is hanging to the left in the photo).
Then, this morning I was leaving for work and this crazy big bird almost attacked me. Apparently he really likes the sunflower that is dead and hanging from its stem. You can see him hiding in the photo, taking a break from attacking the sunflower head.
Here is my jungle of squash, zucchini, potatoes and eggplant.
Here are the herbs, and there is a new addition on the far left side, a coworker gave me a thyme plant!
I have started some new lettuce you can see popping up by the cucumber!
More jungle of garden in the front!
The tomatoes just do not want to stay up with my fancy poles. I think it is because they grew so much while I was in Wisconsin the beginning of July, and did not get spiraled into the pole properly. Either way, they are a mess but producing nicely (I got 7 quarts tonight!). Oh, and I found a slug right out there on that marigold plant the other morning before work. It was HUGE and gross. I killed it. I hope he has no friends that I did not see.
The roses continue to grow, and I continue pruning, which somehow they take as a sign to grow more. Good thing they are pretty!
Oh, and I don’t think I told you about my new toy. Meet my knitting machine!!!
