Recovery

Boy was I exhausted after Sock Summit finished!  It has taken me the last week to get back into the swing of things.  But things have still been happening!

I continue to get piles of produce out of the garden. This is a typical haul after 3 days. Seriously. Oh, and look at my new little gem growing.

We are going to eat this baby tonight! Also, the sunflowers are beginning to bloom! And they are tall, a good 10 feet is my estimate!

In knitting news, knitting is still happening. I have started a sweater for an old friend who is getting married next month. She called and asked, how can I resist! Plus, I found this amazing yarn! Hemp for Knitting’s Cashmere Canapa. 30% cashmere, 10% hemp and 60% cotton. It is really nice to knit with.

The sweater is based off the Anthropologie-Inspired Capelet by Julia Allen. I am really liking how it is coming out! I am adding a bit of shaping at the ’seams’ under the arms, and changed up the front button band area.

I really hope she likes it, and I hope I have enough yarn, or that the yarn store has more! It is kind of burning through the yarn, so I am pretty sure I will need more.

I am also working on two pairs of socks that I started in classes at the Sock Summit.

First up is my first sideways sock, Talking Fish by Janel Laidman. It is going so well! I am getting close to starting the heel portion! The yarn is Bambuki from Dicentra Designs. I just love her yarn!

Last, but certainly not least, is the sock I started designing in Anne Hanson’s class. They are coming along splendidly, the lace pattern is working out great and I am beginning my gusset increases! The yarn is bright red Fortissima Socka.

Now, if there were just more time in the day! Thanks everybody!
