Snuggly Shawl

I have finished the snuggly, milk protein shawl I talked about here.  It is awesome!!!!  For a reminder, here is the photo progression:

I am in love.

This shawl is loosely based off the Textured Shawl Recipe by orlane on Ravelry.  I did mine with the following pattern:

  • 20 rows stockinette
  • 12 pattern repeats of the textured pattern
  • 10 rows stockinette
  • 12 rows garter
  • 12 rows stockinette
  • 16 pattern repeats of the textured pattern
  • 14 rows stockinette
  • 5 pattern repeats of the textured pattern
  • 24 rows garter
The yarn is handspun by me, it is about sport weight and I had about 500 yards total.  I bet I used closes to 475 yds or so?  This is all purely a guess and I forget how much yarn there was and I didn’t use it all.  It is extremely soft and snuggly.  I really like how the colors played out and changed in different areas.  So happy!  Now I just wish it were not the middle of summer so I could wear it!

  • HOORAY! It looks terrific! And today you even got a little cool weather to bask in the soft-and-squishy-ness of it all. Well done! How fun to watch the progression from roving to yarn to shawl. Woo-hoo!

  • What a beautiful shawl. I wish I had been at ss09 to see it.
