Finished Arbour sweater

Finished Arbor sweater

Friday night I finished knitting my Arbor sweater.

  • Vintage Columbia-Minerva yarn purchased at Goodwill years ago
  • I think I used about 5 skeins plus or minus a few yards
  • Arbor sweater by Melissa Burt found here
  • Knit on size 3 needles
  • size 2x
Overall I am pretty happy with how this turned out.  Looking at the photo and remembering wearing it yesterday and knitting:
  • Pay attention when it tells you to cable every other ribbing section
  • I am not super thrilled with the neckline still, I knit it a few times and I feel like it is a bit bunchy/gathered.  But if it was looser the neck would be too big.  I think the lace pattern could be examined to cast on fewer stitches and eliminate the gathering?
  • I think I might have done the top section just a bit too long?
Otherwise, I am happy.  I wore it out Saturday night and to work Monday and everything went really well, no wear issues.  Yay!

  • Thanks for posting the tips on your blog. I have just started and I was thinking it might be too large as I was casting on for the 2X (After frogging for the first time) It was really nice to see the 2X on a person. Thanks again for the tips.
