Major Progress!

Since I have been home a lot lately, job searching and all, I have had a lot of time to knit on my shawl (sorry Joel’s socks, I have been meaning to work on you).  It is now about 65% done!!!!

Here are some photos.   Notes to date:

1.  I LOVE the Addi Lace needles

2.  I did not enjoy the Bryspun needles and I have advanced light years since ditching them.

3.  I love this pattern!  It is written really well, most rows are easy to memorize, and the only mistakes I make are my own dang fault.  Just one little note is that sometimes there is a decrease stitch that involves stitches on either side of the stitch marker, and that is a little annoying.

4. It is great how the natural color of the alpaca causes slight variation to the shawl.  I think it will look so pretty.

5.  It is getting huge!

6.  My spinning was pretty good for the most part, and where it isn’t I like the slight changes in thickness, it really gives it that homemade look that I love.

7.  Oh, and I am using a special join, I think it was called Norwegian?  Anyway, I love it.  I won’t have to weave in any ends and it holds very securely.  I will use this again.  I can’t remember where I saw the instructions, but you fold over the end and weave it back on itself, sewing it into itself, and then you do that on the other skein too, and they hook in the middle.

Enough of my crazy ranting.  Here are photos!  Yay!  I pinned it out dry to show the detail.
